This volunteers team founders initiative consolidates us as the youngest entrepreneur project with the most influence of its kind. Transforming an action having a tangible and creative feasibility, in order to start a real movement of citizenship participation, from the community members, is a praiseworthy plan to be emulated and an inspiring instrument to our young enterprising people.
The scholarships program is directed to young boys and girls who are part of our volunteering programs.
The scholarships system works in a way the chosen ones receive art lessons in our allied institution, The Greenwich Art Society, in Greenwich CT or StudioArte in Norwalk, CT, with the cost being covered entirely by the “Embracing Art Volunteers Team”. These scholarships are restricted to the availability of places for the different programs, for spring, fall, and winter terms each year.
The applicants must have not only artistic aptitudes, they have to be active members of their communities, do social work or all those activities that represent the goals of the “Embracing Art Volunteers Team”, in order to apply for a scholarship.
The scholarships program Embracing Art began in 2014. The first scholarship award name is “ Guillermo Barreto’s Scholarship for Emerging Artists”. Guillermo, a Venezuelan artist, faithful and unconditional volunteer of our programs, died in November 2013, leaving a deep lesson of love for art, love for children and his great capacity in giving. We will never forget his talent and his warm humanity.
If you want to apply for one of our scholarships 2017-2018, you may register Sunday 27th, between 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm, during the Latin Colors Magazine Awards event at the Stepping Stone Museum in Norwalk, CT.
